(State College) -- A new study from Penn State is predicting Pennsylvania's economy will take a major hit when rate caps expire in two years. When electricity rates increase, the report says consumers will compensate for the cost by cutting back on other purchases.
Researcher David Passmore says that will ultimately create an economic slowdown for the Commonwealth.

Passmore estimates a ten percent cost hike could mean a loss of 9,600 jobs, and that many of those will come from the retail sector.
